Pyrex is more than 110 years old, and if they’re properly maintained the containers themselves could potentially live to be that long as well.
“My Pyrex that I have is decades old. Decades old,” Burgess says. “And unless you drop it on the tile floor, it's not going to break.”
Most Pyrex dishes make it easy to prep, cook, and store your food all in the same bowl, reducing the amount of dishes that need to be washed.
“It's easy to just put a top on it because a lot of the Pyrex also comes with a food storage lid,” Burgess says. “So it's versatile. And that's what's great.”
“And even if you were prepping a meal ahead of time and then you decided, hey, let me prep it, refrigerate it, come home from work, pop it in the oven, you could easily do that,” she continues. “Then when that's done, put the lid back on, you've eaten, you put the lid back on, put it right back in the refrigerator.”
When the container is eventually empty, Burgess says the quality of Pyrex’s glass will make cleanup easier.
“And then cleanup is pretty decent,” she says. “Even if you scrub it, even if you're a heavy-handed person on your cookware and you scrub that thing, it's still gonna come out spotless and almost look brand-new. And that's what I love about it. It's a great, great product.”
While the company has undergone some innovations in its more than 110 years, it’s continued making products trusted by home cooks.
“That's why I love Pyrex, because it's tried-and-true,” Burgess says. “Even, you know, the durability, you know, the thickness of it, heat transfer-wise, everything works. You know, the type of glass that’s tried-and-true for cooking. And what's amazing is that you can make the most delicious casseroles in them…So, you know, I will endorse Pyrex just because it's been in our household for decades and it still keeps going.”
