“This is a really easy sandal, because it has a rubber sole and a really soft, comfortable footbed,” Pelaez said of her line’s classic espadrille sandals. “For summer, it's a comfortable, open-toe sandal, walking-around option and I think it's versatile.” 

You can pair it with “an athletic short and vintage top–having that sporty and vintage combination is what I'm really into right now,” she said of her summer 2026 style. “With this shoe, it all just comes together. You could wear it in the city or you could wear it by the Mediterranean.” 

The look is ready to go anywhere thanks to its comfortable yet diverse elements. “I like the athletic shorts because they're just really comfortable, but I like a sophisticated top,” she explained. “I like having that sense of individual style. The combo is more feminine. It's cool.”

“It's so ‘90s of me,” Pelaez said of her nostalgia-infused denim-and-a-white-T-shirt pairing. “Jeans and a T-shirt is such an easy look. It makes me happy. When I don't know what to wear, it's a very easy go to. And you can be as chill about it or as crisp about it as you are feeling at that given moment.” 

Her preferred accessories are a classic leather belt and a bandana twisted at the neck, for a casual-cool touch. 

As for shoes, “I love the espadrille slipper because I'm a big loafer person, but sometimes loafers get really hot in the summer,” she says. “I think the espadrille slippers look really good as a loafer or sneaker alternative. The way we designed them, they’re not very loafery. There are a ton of loafer espadrilles, and that look doesn't really resonate with me.”

She got her inspiration elsewhere. Back in the day, “I used to wear these kung fu slippers all the time, and they were cotton on the bottom. The worst was when I would get stuck in the rain, and then the cotton bottom sole would absorb the water, and I'd have these water-logged, heavy shoes, but I loved them so much.

“These espadrille slippers are definitely inspired by that, but they have a rubber sole. You can wear them with shorts, too. The jute bottom, juxtaposed with the leather upper and the deep-V vamp, definitely gives it a summer vibe.”

“I love these Reef slingbacks. They're super. I love that they're kind of a flip-flop, but they have that piece in the back that makes it more of a shoe,” said Pelaez. “I'll wear them a lot this summer. They'll definitely go in my luggage.”

Her pairing advice? 

“I really like this flip-flop with a feminine, soft silk skirt,” she says. “It makes it a very ‘90s look. It hits home there: It's really familiar, but it’s just about making it casual. I think when I wore a version of this outfit in the '90s, I was wearing high heels.” 

These days, she’s going for an easier overall look: “You could wear it in the city, you could wear it at the beach, you could wear it in town.” 

Another advantage? “It packs really small,” she says. 

As for accessories, “with a silk bias-cut skirt, pairing a baseball cap with the Reefs makes it even more casual and less femme,” she said. “I really like the contrast.”
