I’m the founder of the cult natural bodycare line, Kate McLeod. Here are 5 go-to products I use every day

“I received it in a goodie bag at a beauty conference about two years ago, and I loved the feel of it the moment I put it on,” McLeod says. “I started using it every day and within a few months, my brows were completely different.

“My morning routine: I wash my face, then do a few sprays of this. It wakes you right up. The smell is absolutely amazing: earthy and grounding, with fir, frankincense, cedar, chamomile. It's a lovely way to wake up.

“I spritz it on, let it dry, and then go in with my brow gel and face oil. It’s become a quiet little ritual that sets the tone for the whole morning. “If you know me, you know I don't drink coffee or caffeine,” says McLeod. “My morning starts with cacao about five mornings a week. I don’t miss caffeine. My favorite way to drink it right now: I melt down about a cup and a half of bone broth — high in collagen, high in protein — and blitz into it half a date and two heaping tablespoons of cacao. That is my morning elixir. 

But this cacao is endlessly versatile. I mix it into oatmeal. I've blended it into avocado mousse. I blitz it with water and different plant milks. I have even used it in ceremony. This has been a staple in my home for close to five years. It has genuinely nourished me.” 

“What I love beyond the taste and the ritual: the sourcing,” she says. The founder works directly with small farmers, and “you can feel that care in the product. I've tried a few of her different strands but I remain loyal to the original: her Signature Blend ChunCho cacao from Peru.”

“For another product that I always use, I have to say: my own formulas,” says McLeod. “We do a lot of making in our house. Our peanut butter, our milks, our tonics, our sweets, and most of our meals. I get so much joy and fulfillment out of making things. I absolutely love creating a recipe, and I’ve become dedicated to knowing what I’m consuming, whether I’m eating it or putting it on my skin.
