Dietician Maggie Moon tested 25 smoothies in 1 day with this Nutribullet — here’s why it’s now her go-to blender

Registered dietitian and best-selling author Maggie Moon has spent nearly two decades helping people make healthier food choices easier.

As a registered dietitian, best-selling author of The MIND Diet, and Health-Ade adviser, Maggie Moon knows good food needs to pull its weight: It should taste phenomenal, support the body, and make sense for real life.

“I transitioned from being a professional dancer into studying something that would fuel the body in a different way — so rather than movement, the nourishment part,” she says. “Now really my focus for the last 10 years has been neuron nutrition. So how do our food choices affect how well our brain functions?”

Now, her work focuses on making that knowledge available through advising. “I’ve worked for different commodity boards, really healthy wholesome foods, and healthy, good-for-you brands as well that are very simple and science-based across the board,” Moon says.

“What brought me in was some of their leadership, and then what kept me is just the team that’s there is delightful, and the brand is science-backed,” she says. (Also, it helps she’s personally a fan: “I love their kombucha,” she says.) “They really want to be honest and transparent and all their products taste so good. If I’m going to work with a brand or any organization and make recommendations for a product… I want it to taste great and I want it to be science-backed.”

With a busy day of advisory work ahead of her as well as her schedule as a dietician, Moon’s mornings need a strong start — and few things beat a smoothie for nutrient delivery and first-thing-in-the-morning ease. After putting one blender through its paces by making 25 smoothies in one day with it, Moon shares why it’s now her go-to for her morning smoothie.
