After visiting 100+ countries, a tourism expert says these 3 international travel essentials make trips easier

International travel gets easier with travel essentials that actually pull their weight. After 20 years working in tourism and traveling to more than 100 countries, Audrey Scott relies on three things: a crossbody bag, a checked suitcase, and compression socks that balance practicality, durability, and ease of use.

Audrey Scott says, “trying to find that combination of practical, durable, and also just easy to use,” is her main focus when choosing items that make her international travel days more manageable. Scott has spent 20 years working in tourism, and in that span of time has visited over 100 countries as the co-founder of the tourism marketing consultancy Uncornered Market.

What began with travel storytelling for Scott eventually grew into tourism consulting on international development projects. And after all those miles, she found three travel essentials that make the getting-there part much easier for her.
